Halo 3

Halo 3 is the 'final' of the trilogy of Halo games but I strongly believe that there will be more and we will see shortly.
Firstly the Single Player experience, the campaign is an epic battle from start to finish from head on skirmishing using your trusty Assault Rifle, to Sniping from cliff tops and destroying using Tanks. The Single Player however does become slightly boring after a few playthroughs though with the only real save being the Campaign scoring meta-game where you gain points for killing enemies and destroying vehicles. The multiplayer maps though go to waste if you can only have Single Player though as apart from forge mode there isn't really much to do on them. In my opinion, the best thing that Bungie (the creators of Halo) could possibly do to improve the Single Player is to implement AI enemies in Custom Games so you can improve every match and it will never really become boring.

Next onto the multiplayer, this is where Halo 3 really comes into its own, the split screen gaming is very good where the only bad thing about it is that you can see where the other player(s) are, and the Online play is even better, by far this is the best FPS (First Person Shooter) for online experience in a game on the Xbox 360. This is because of an absolutely amazing amount of options and variants to play on. Not only are the games customisable but so is the appearance of the character that you play in multiplayer combat. There are also over 10 quite large maps to play on with regular DLC (DownLoad Content) being released for this game every few months for around 800 MS Points.

Finally onto the extra modes that come with the game, the new ones that are unique to this game are ‘Theater’ and ‘Forge’. Theater mode is basically replay mode but instead of only being able to see the replay from your camera that you played the game from you can fly about the battlefield taking screenshots and videos for your collection and for your friends to see all of the cool stuff that you have done. Forge mode is a map editing mode where you can remove most placable objects on the map and replace them with another, or to spawn weapons or vehicles in locations to make an entirely new map. A map that was built for Forge mode is called Foundry; all of the boxes in the middle of the map can be removed creating an empty room to mess about in. This map shipped in the Heroic Map pack which is now free and there is also the Legendary Map Pack available for 600MS Points and a bonus free map Cold Storage.

Also there is Bungie.net, not actually part of the game but it is actually the website of the makers of the game, this website tracks your progress online and records all of the stats from all of your online games be them custom with friends or ranked in match-making. You can also download game variants and map variants stored on this website so that you can use them on your Xbox.

To conclude, this game is a must have for all gamers, not just the ones who play FPS games so that they can experience the greatness of the combat and one of the best games of all time.

9/10

would have been 10 but with the lack of AI in Custom Games it becomes boring after a while.
